Activision estimates 4.7 million copies of Modern Warfare 2 sold

Although we still don’t have any official sales numbers for Modern Warfare 2’s launch, internal estimates at Activision are putting worldwide sales at around 4.7 million copies – that’s in one day! Making MW2 the “biggest launch in the history across all forms of entertainment” according to the company. Frankly, they might be right. Their predicted $310 million dollars in revenue easily trumps the first day gross of any Hollywood Blockbuster. Then again, given the hype, is anyone really surprised?
