LucasArts staying coy about X-Wing/Tie Fighter return

X-WingIf you were a PC gamer like myself in the early 90s, chances are you played the fantastic X-Wing or Tie Fighter Combat Simulators from LucasArts. Although nothing has been done with either franchise in some time, that could soon be changing. G4TV.com recently did an interview with LucasArts president Darrell Rodriguez, when asked about the possibility of resurrecting either franchise, he had this to say:

“We don’t have any announcements now, but stay tuned. We will soon…..”

The article notes that the amount of dots were intentional, as the interview was conducted over e-mail. Seems like Darrel is trying to tell us something. At the moment we can only speculate as to LucasArt’s plans. Recently the company remade the classic adventure title, “The Secret of Monkey Island”, so perhaps X-Wing and Tie Fighter might receive similar treatment (such a port would work very well on XLBA). Then again, they might be looking to relaunch the series entirely. Either way, Stay tuned…….

By the way, no Bothans where harmed bringing us this information.
