Mondo Spider looks like its straight of a game

February 10, 2010 |  by Ben Z Cooper  |  Random Stuff

As we’ve seen, more and more people from generation Y are growing up intrinsically connected, and subsequently inspired by, the strange flickering images that we process as children. That is certainly the case with the Mondo Spider;. This 1600 pound mechanical walking machine sparks thought and conversation about a wide range of topics including art, energy, culture, movies, and video games.

After getting past the obvious Wild Wild West references, there’s the realization of that undercurrent of fascination with the world and why and how each of us connect with it. The organization responsible for it, eatART, which stands for Energy Awareness Through Art, has gained recognition during past few years in Vancouver. Most recently, they are displaying the spider right now at CODE Live 1 during the Olympics in Vancouver. So, if you’re around here, check it out. If not, head over to vimeo and check out the video in full rez.
