Next Generation Isn’t Far In The Future

We’ve been enjoying our 360’s, Wii’s and, PS3’s respectively but the fun can’t last forever. Every few years, gaming companies need to wow us with new even better graphics, more bells and whistles and, huge price tags. I thought I’d be forever happily playing Lengend of Zelda: A Link To The Past.

According to CNBC, these new systems are on their way soon. The new promises are equivalent to what we’ve heard in the past. “The next generation is going to be so powerful that playing a game is going to be the equivalent of playing a CGI movie today,” predicts Yves Guillemot, chairman and CEO of the publisher. Production of these bells and whistles is apparently going to be upwards of $60 million. Welcome to be big leagues, video games! I’ve been saying since I was exploring Hyrule with Link that in our lifetimes video games will become larger than the movie industry. Lately, that happened. Now game developers are seeing the gigantic price that goes along with being a big player.

Despite developers trying to make us feel sorry for the fact that they have to spend more money to get money from us. There are tracks (and hopefully will be new and improved tracks) for smaller game developers to make games as simple and deadly addictive as Zelda.

Personally, I’m still happy with the quality that is still being released on 360… Then again, I was happy with a Link To The Past..
