Retro Coolness On The Internet

When I see things like these on the internet, I have to wonder. Is there a higher purpose to this work of art? Was the artist called to do this by some video game god of retro-coolness? Did this person make this just to get some blog love on the internet? Obviously, it works in the last case. This guy made a giant Sonic, a smaller Pac Man and, of course, and Obama. If you’re so inclined, check them out. If you’re so inclined for finding out the magic formula for making it big on the internet, check it after the break.

These days, many people spends literally hundreds of hours making something with the soul purpose being having their 0.15 seconds of fame on the internet. I can see their resumes now.

Graduated High School

Community College for Art

Big Internet Hit with some Lego Mario related masterpiece

Nothing else

So, you may all be wondering, how do I do this myself?! The magic formula to making a hit for the internet is as follows:

1 Retro Gaming Character

1000’s of Rubix Cubes  (or 10000’s of Lego blocks)

10’s of hours

No life

There you have it! Then you’ll have many blog posts written about you and your work (this guy actually made it on the news). Then other people will read about it and forget both the artist and the author of the blog post… Wait, you’re forgetting about me? Dammit,… My 0.15 seconds of fame is over.
