A funny thing happened when Gizmodo asked Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer about adding Blu-ray support to the Xbox – he didn’t say no. In fact, he was a bit more specific, “Well I don’t know if we need to put Blu-ray in there—you’ll be able to get Blu-ray drives as accessories.”
So there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth. Although, the quote is pretty non-specific. Doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll be getting a Blu-ray add-on, especially in the wake of the upcoming 1080p video Zune Marketplace thingie for the Xbox. That being said, seems like Microsoft is keeping their options open. Not necessarily a bad move given how well their first line of products named Zune faired.
